Our Mission

Our mission for Families Against Distracted Driving (F.A.D.D) is to educate and support drivers with the knowledge and impact of the aftermath that follows the unnecessary act of distracted driving, because whatever the distraction is, it can wait, it may save a life, maybe even yours.

Distracted driving is any activity that takes a driver's attention away from the road.  It can include texting, eating, or even talking to passengers. The effects of distracted driving can be devastating, leading to accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. It's important to stay focused on the road and avoid distractions while driving to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

HOW TO HELP

Get involved, make a tribute, add a blog and tell your story, stay informed, become a sponsor. Fill out a volunteer application or fundraiser application and help get the word out "IT CAN WAIT!" Book us at your school event, conference, or get together to spread awareness and hear our story, and other stories who have been effected. 



THE CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU

Make the pledge to end your distracted driving habits. Whether you are eating or changing the music, 5 seconds of being unaware is all it takes to end yours or someone else's life. 

PREVENTION 

It can stop with YOU!  Become familiar with common distractions while driving and prevent a life from being lost.

Distracted driving is a major cause of car accidents in the US. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in2019, distracted driving claimed the lives of 3,142 people. This number has been increasing over the years, with 2,841 deaths in 2018 and 2,935 deaths in 2017. The most common age group involved in distracted driving accidents are young adults aged 16-24 It is important to stay focused while driving to prevent accidents and save lives.

Families Against Distracted Driving can help the community and the nation by raising awareness about the dangers of distracted through educational campaigns and events. They can also advocate for stricter laws and penalties for distracted driving offenses. By working together with law enforcement and other organizations, they can help prevent accidents caused by distracted driving and make our roads safer for everyone.
